Retired Colorado teacher accused of using teen girls to distribute drugs

A 59-year-old retired teacher is accused of recruiting teenage girls to help him sell and distribute drugs.

Deputies who executed a search warrant at John Metty’s home near Parker on Aug. 2, found marijuana, ecstasy, prescription medications, drug paraphernalia and firearms, according to a news release.

Investigators who suspected Metty of drug distribution and running an illegal marijuana-growing operation conducted surveillance of his property at 414 Meadow Station Circle, and interviewed people seen leaving his residence.

“It is believed that John Metty has been recruiting teenage females from the Parker area to help him sell and distribute the drugs from his residence,” the release said.

Metty appeared in Elbert County Thursday. He is currently released on bond.
