A day in the life of Denver comic Josh Blue: parenting, pot and stage time

Before the success of The Grawlix troupe or Denver-born comic/actor T.J. Miller, Josh Blue was repping the Mile High City on national comedy stages.

The 37-year-old comedian with cerebral palsy has been celebrating his decade anniversary as the winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” which helped propel him into clubs and theaters nationwide, with the new one-hour special “Delete” and the occasional press blitz that included a stop on The Denver Post’s very own “Cannabist Show” last month.

In advance of his pair of Wednesday, Sept. 21 shows at Comedy Works on Larimer Square (in honor of the club’s 35th anniversary), Blue also allowed Post videographer Vincent Chandler to spend a day with him (Aug. 27) as he played with his kids, smoked weed — on the street and in full view of a line of police cars, at one point — and dropped into the High Plains Comedy Festival for a set at 3 Kings Tavern.
