Colorado marijuana testing company CannLabs will expand into Nevada

Colorado marijuana testing company CannLabs is expanding out of state again. The company’s future lab in Nevada’s ever-growing medical cannabis sector will be CannLabs’ biggest location yet.

In June, CannLabs announced its expansion into Connecticut’s medical marijuana market. CannLabs’ Nevada location in North Las Vegas will test for potency, microbiological contaminates, heavy metals, pesticides and residual solvents.

“As Nevada moves forward with the cultivation and sale of medical marijuana,” Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus said in a statement, “our top priority is protecting the health and safety of consumers. That’s why I’m pleased to welcome CannLabs’ expertise and professionalism to Southern Nevada. Having visited their Denver facility, I am confident the opening of their laboratory and research center here will bring the highest standards of quality and safety to our state’s developing medical cannabis industry.”

Nevada’s marijuana industry is expected to push for recreational legalization in 2016, according to business experts. CannLabs’ outfit is already licensed by the city of North Las Vegas and Nevada’s Division of Public and Behavioral Health.
