It’s not Thanksgiving yet, so that must mean it’s time to start selling Christmas, right? This week you can get into that holiday spirit, or watch other people ski and snowboard better than you ever will, or test how well — and how fast — you think on your weed feet.
Hyland Hills Adventure Golf & Raceway (through Dec. 13)
It’s beginning to look a lot like the weather is going to be back and forth for a while, so mini golf is definitely an option. Adventure Golf & Raceway in Westminster makes it even more fun by adding holiday lights all over the course, casting all 54 holes (three distinct 18-hole options) in cheery, twinkly hues. Stay warm and motivated with tasty hot chocolate and s’mores from the concession stand. Cost: 18 holes starts at $10 ($9 for residents). Golf from 5-9 p.m. Thursday-Sunday until Dec. 13, and then the same time daily Dec. 17-Jan. 3. Click here for details
Warren Miller’s “Chasing Shadows” (in Colorado through Dec. 18)
Don’t be like my friend who passed out in a stoned stupor at a Warren Miller film a few years ago — I looked over and his chin was in his chest, and after I checked to make sure he was still breathing, I let him sleep until the end. As anyone who’s been to one of these knows, the volume can be so loud that it feels like your eardrums are going to bleed, so that was no small feat. But Warren Miller’s latest, “Chasing Shadows,” the 66th film for the company, is worth staying somewhat awake for — this time the daredevils take on the Himalayas. It plays at the Boulder Theater and then the Paramount, and from there travels around the state for a month. Click here for details
