Investigators seize 500 plants in suspected illegal pot grow in El Paso County

Thirteen pounds of processed marijuana and more than 500 marijuana plants were seized Friday when authorities served a search warrant at a suspected illegal grow in El Paso County.

Investigators executed the search warrant in the 16,000 block of Jones Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The plants seized were in various stages of growth, and investigators estimate the street value at about $425,000.

Two men, Antonio Lazaro Moreno, 35, and Armando Javier Vega, 42, were arrested and booked at the El Paso County jail.

This month, drug investigators in El Paso County have served 10 search warrants, seizing about 300 pounds of processed marijuana and about 1,000 plants, the sheriff’s office said.
