Close count: This Colorado city approved recreational pot sales by just 55 votes

Certainty has finally been brought to a ballot issue that for two weeks seemed less than certain: Federal Heights voters have approved recreational pot sales in this city of 12,000.

Final results from the Nov. 8 election were posted this week and show that the Question 2B prevailed by 1,746 votes to 1,691 votes — which works out to a 50.8 percent to 49.2 percent margin of victory. The measure was shown to be failing immediately after the election but Adams County was slow to tally all of its ballots.

The canvass board met Monday to finalize the results of the election.

Federal Heights joins Englewood with a successful recreational marijuana sales ballot measure this year in the metro area.
