The Texas Department of Public Safety seized the items from People’s Pharmacy and said in a statement that it will analyze the level of THC, which is the psychoactive chemical that produces a high.
A message left with People’s corporate offices was not returned Friday but founder Bill Swail told KXAN-TV that he follows the law and his products have low levels of THC.
Texas lawmakers last year OK’d legislation allowing patients with a rare form of epilepsy to be treated with cannabidiol, or CBD. The law specifies minimum levels of CBD a product must have and permits only trace amounts of THC.
