3,900 pot plants yanked from illegal grow on federal forest land in Jeffco

Authorities announced Wednesday that that officers have eradicated 3,900 illegal marijuana plants from a grow in Pike National Forest.

The grow site was cleared from the Green Mountain area in Jefferson County, the U.S. Forest Service said in a news release.

No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation.

In addition to the Forest Service, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Nationl Guard Joint County Drug Task force were all part of the operation.

More than 3,000 pounds of irrigation pipe, pesticides, flammable liquids, camping gear and trash needed to be cleaned.
