Cannabist Show: He’s a Pulitzer finalist; She runs pot shops; He’s a pot lawyer

Here’s what’s happening on The Cannabist Show, episode No. 6, featuring guests John Ingold of The Denver Post, Caitlin Murphy of the Emerald Fields cannaboutiques and Josh Kappel of the Vicente Sederberg law firm.

Top cannabis news: In the aftermath of 4/20, we look back at the eventful week that was in Colorado. Denver Police issued 196 marijuana violations over the entire three-day weekend. Most of those were for public consumption at the 4/20 Rally, which drew an estimated 125,000 people, according to organizers. Across town at the Cannabis Cup, there were some out-of-town vendors offering pot samples, mostly concentrates. There was also at least one booth there actually selling grams of weed for an illegal $30 “donation.”

The DPD staged an undercover sting operation at two local pot clubs, Grassroots and the POTUS Club. 10 people were ticketed at those two locations. But the Denver Police also made some new friends this weekend after posting a sly hip-hop reference to Twitter on April 19: “We see you rollin, but we ain’t hatin’. Haha. Seriously though, Denver, please remember to consume responsibly this 4/20 weekend.”
