Which came first: “Pineapple Express” the movie or the Pineapple Express the marijuana strain?
We have it on the best authority possible — aka Seth Rogen, the comedy’s star and Hollywood’s resident pothead — that the movie came before the weed.
Rogen recently sat down with our friend Chris Parente, host of the “Everyday” Show (weekdays at 10 a.m. on Denver TV station Fox31), to talk about his new film “Neighbors,” which opens in theaters on May 9. Parente is a Colorado boy, and so he quizzed Rogen and his co-star Rose Byrne on all things Colorado marijuana.
Seth Rogen: “I’ve never smoked weed with James Franco” (video)
Both Rogen (a Canadian) and Byrne (an Australian) admit they’ve never stepped foot inside the Centennial State — currently being toasted for being the first state in the U.S. to sell legal recreational marijuana — but they still have fun with Parente. At one point, Rogen tells the TV host, “(Colorado) is a role model for every state on the planet.”
