Our guests this week on The Cannabist Show: Freddie Wyatt, president of Munch and Company; and Wanda James, president of Cannabis Global Initiative.
Top cannabis news: Let’s start with what many of you have been talking about all week — and that’s the Denver Broncos’ number one draft pick, Shane Ray, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound SEC defensive player of the year who was popped for marijuana possession just three days before the NFL draft.

We’ll also talk about how the U.S. Supreme Court is asking advice from a top government lawyer on what to do about state weed policy and a smoldering fight between Colorado and two nearby states. Five months ago, Nebraska and Oklahoma challenged Colorado’s commercialization of marijuana — citing enforcement problems because of the drug’s increased accessibility in the region. Now the U.S. Supreme Court is asking for the solicitor general’s opinion, and his feelings on the case could influence whether the Supreme Court decides to hear the case.
This week’s guests:
Freddie Wyatt has a dream job of sorts. He has made a living throwing 420-friendly parties and concerts for various marijuana businesses. Maybe you’ve been to one of them?
Wanda James is the president of the Cannabis Global Initiative, and she is connected intimately with marijuana worlds both here in Colorado and abroad.
Play along with our Pot Quiz: We’ll talk about Snoop and Pharrell’s new song, another musician’s brand-new book and a state that is suggesting medical marijuana for those living with PTSD.
