Po-po no-no: San Jose police officer arrested for stealing suspect’s weed

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A 21-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department has been arrested for stealing marijuana he had confiscated during a domestic violence arrest.

San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia says Officer Julio Morales was arrested Monday for misdemeanor petty theft of marijuana after an internal investigation. Morales was cited and released.

Garcia says the 49-year-old officer stole the pot in November when he arrested a domestic violence suspect. Morales was placed on paid administrative leave on Saturday.
