DE BEQUE — Town trustees in De Beque (dee BEK’) have voted to allow marijuana growing operations and recreational sales in the business district and on town-annexed land near Interstate 70.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports the trustees voted Monday to approve both locations with some restrictions after debating whether to split up the operations
Each proposed business would have to get trustee approval.
De Beque voters approved retail sales of recreational marijuana in April. Colorado voters legalized retail marijuana sales statewide effective Jan. 1 but municipalities can opt out.
Few other western Colorado towns allow recreational pot sales.
