Focus on the Family leader cites medical benefits of pot

COLORADO SPRINGS–The leader of an influential religious organization says there are legitimate medical benefits from marijuana, but using it for recreation goes too far.

Focus on the Family president Jim Daly tells KRDO-TV ( http://tinyurl.com/qdog9e6) marijuana legalization hasn’t been a major issue for Focus on the Family because he believes liberalizing use of the drug will be rescinded by voters once people see the long-term effects.

Daly says allowing sale of the drug to raise tax money is also a false argument because it could be extended to other vices, including prostitution.
