A man wanted by Aspen police in the Tuesday robbery of a recreational marijuana shop by a hammer-wielding robber was arrested Wednesday night near St. Louis.
Police told the Aspen Times that they had expected 21-year-old Hayden May to turn himself in Wednesday afternoon. When he did not, they issued an alert and, at about 7 p.m., police announced he had been caught on Interstate 70 in eastern Missouri.

Officials say a man stole about $11,000 in marijuana products from the business, called Stash, on the 700 block of East Durant Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“The shop staff complied with the suspect, who immediately fled on foot,” police said in a news release.
Garrett Patrick, the store’s owner, told The Aspen Times the bandit was seen fleeing the area by diners at a popular lunch spot.
“He said, ‘Sorry, I’m just really desperate now,'” Patrick told the newspaper.
