Get details on how — and why — social pot use would work in Denver

Hear how a new initiative to allow limited marijuana use at Denver businesses would be implemented, according to one of the primary authors behind the effort.

The Marijuana Policy Project’s Mason Tvert joins marijuana editor Ricardo Baca on a recent episode of The Cannabist Show, where Tvert outlines how the initiative would work, and reasons for seeking the change.

“We didn’t want to have a separate but equal system with only marijuana bars and only alcohol. We just wanted to allow adults who choose — to use marijuana if the establishment allows it,” Tvert says in the above video.

The initiative’s primary authors are Tvert and Brian Vicente of cannabis-focused law firm Vicente Sederberg. Organizers need 5,000 signatures to get the question on Denver’s November ballot.
