Mario Hollerway gets two years probation after daughter ingested pot

A Denver man charged with child abuse and drug possession, after his 3-year-old daughter ingested marijuana, was sentenced Monday to probation and home detention.

Mario Hollerway, 33, had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of child abuse and possession of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced Monday to two years probation and two years home detention, he has to wear an ankle bracelet as part of his compliance and to have his whereabouts monitored.

He was arrested in December, along with his wife, Alysia Lombard, 26, after their daughter was diagnosed at a hospital as having ingested marijuana.

Lombard pleaded guilty May 20 to misdemeanor child abuse. She was sentenced to 18 months probation and sobriety classes.

Hollerway was also sentenced to 50 hours community service. He has been ordered to abstain from alcohol and drugs as part of his probation term.
