Talk about nerves: As 4:20 p.m. Denver time approached on May 10 — a.k.a. Mother’s Day — I was sitting in Comedy Works’ green room with some insanely talented stand-up comics getting ready to take the stage for a taping of my single-favorite podcast in the world.
Comic Doug Benson (also a legit weed hero) had generously asked me to be a guest on his movie podcast “Doug Loves Movies” after seeing the marijuana-journalism documentary “Rolling Papers” at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
Too fun!
And then the nerves came on: “Lots of people listen to this,” I thought. But after meeting my fellow guests — whip-smart comedians Geoff Tate and Julian McCullough — and seeing Benson again, I knew we were in for a good time.
The podcast taping was a blast, the sold-out crowd at Comedy Works was super-rad and Benson’s team took less than 24 hours to launch it. And now everyone can listen, via the embed below, the Doug Loves Movies site or iTunes.
