Rick Ross will headline Denver’s mammoth (and free) 420 Rally

Rick Ross will headline the big 420 Rally in Civic Center this year, organizers have announced. In 2014, the event brought tens of thousands of people to Civic Center for a lineup of Wyclef Jean, B.o.B and Denver’s FL of the Foodchain.

The event will take place on April 18-19, because 4/20 falls on a Monday and the city has issued an event moratorium on big parks (including Civic Center Park). Ross will be the April 19 headliner.

Though recreational marijuana is legal for persons 21 years and older, smoking in public is not. Police officers will be on hand issuing citations to those who are witnessed smoking outside at this year’s rally. Last year police issued dozens of citations to partygoers who broke the smoking outside law.

The annual marijuana holiday has made Denver a hotbed for performances by some of the best in the music industry. The Cannabis Cup and other pro-marijuana events turn the weekend into one giant party with pot at the center of entertainment.
