Coachella FAQ: Can medical marijuana patients smoke pot at the music fest?

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has grown into one of the biggest entertainment events in the world, and part of its appeal is its chill aesthetics.

The music festival is California hip, from the bikinis-and-bros feel to the no-big-deal celebs who mingle with the sweaty, neon masses. Heck, even the fest’s FAQ is laid back, dude-bro.

From this year’s FAQ:

Q: I HAVE A MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD AND MEDICATE DAILY. COOL?

A: SORRY BRO, MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARDS ARE NOT VALID AT COACHELLA FESTIVAL.

While drugs are everywhere at Coachella, the fest’s no-pot policy is to be expected. What’s a little odd: The above “BRO” in the festival’s answer links to the Smokeout Festival’s Facebook page — and we’re not even sure that fest is happening anymore since its main website references the schedule for the 2012 fest.

Coachella, with headliners AC/DC, Drake and Jack White, runs April 10-12 and 17-19 in Indio, Calif.
