Reports: Skinnygirl Bethenny Frankel is working on munchie-less marijuana

Bethenny Frankel pulled the ultimate capitalist trick when she became better known for her ever-popular Skinnygirl beverage brand than her time on “Real Housewives of New York.”

And now multiple reports are saying Frankel is pursuing a Skinnygirl marijuana brand — one using pot strains that won’t bring on the munchies.

The Daily Mail quoted a source in US Weekly with the news: “It will be a specifically engineered strain of pot designed not to give you the munchies,” the source said, according to The Daily Mail.

While in Colorado in December, Frankel did comment via Twitter on how “OMG it’s the craziest thing to see marijuana legal in Aspen. People walking into pot stores like it’s the @Gap.” She accentuated the tweet with the hashtag “#prohibitiondone.”

TMZ is backing up US Weekly’s source: “Our sources confirm Frankel is working on selling a kind of pot that does NOT give you the munchies … We’re told Frankel plans to peddle her buds in states where recreational marijuana is legal … like Alaska, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.”

The Cannabist reached out to Frankel’s team on Thursday morning. When we hear back, we’ll report more.
