2 Denver police lab workers exposed to synthetic marijuana powder

Two people exposed to synthetic marijuana powder at the Denver police crime lab Monday morning were taken to a hospital.

The cannabinoid powder was released about 10:30 a.m. at the lab on the 1300 block of Cherokee Street, according to Lt. Mike Pylar, a spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.

Fire crews were able to “contain and isolate the powder to where it was at.”

The condition of those transported was not immediately available.

Both patients work at the crime lab, including one who is an intern from Metropolitan State University, 7News reported.
