Do you remember when Zach Galifianakis smoked a joint on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher”?
The conversation on California’s pot-legalizing Prop 19 in November of 2010 was a familiar one, and Maher’s panel, which included Galifianakis, was having fun with it while also seriously discussing its pros and cons.
“It’s a tricky thing politically to jump on that bandwagon, ’cause I think that maybe people see it as taboo still,” Galifianakis said before quickly grabbing a lighter and joint from his pocket. As you’ll see in the video above, he lit it and smoked it — and even passed it down the panel.

What you won’t see in the video: It wasn’t a marijuana joint.
First it was HBO saying it wasn’t real. Then Maher confirmed what HBO had said.
“I think it was cloves or something,” Maher later revealed to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “If it was a real joint, Wolf, I would have smoked it … Zach’s crazy, he’s not that crazy.”
Galifiankis is clearly a fan of pot humor. Remember when he gave Brad Pitt a gift-wrapped bong for no reason whatsoever? That was definitely awesome.
