Surely you’ve seen the viral videos and striking photography made by thrillseekers who ignore rules and break laws to capture that perfect shot from high-in-the-sky rooftops, iconic structures and tower cranes in urban settings. These photos and videos often dominate social media, and simply looking at these severe shots can make your stomach turn over.
Almost all of these daredevils are breaking the law by trespassing, and they often post socially responsible warnings with the work along the lines of “you shouldn’t do this, but if you do it’s at your own risk.” While most of these thrillseekers are climbing structures in Hong Kong, New York and London, a small group has started taking on familiar structures in Denver — giving their Instagram followers never-before-seen views of the Mile High City.
We’re not recommending illegally breaking into cranes, skyscrapers or rooftops. But as a lifelong Denver native who has never seen any of these unique perspectives of Colorado’s largest city, I’m happy to let adventurous Instagram users amusemymuse and romenempire do the work for us.
