Colorado Public Television (CPT12, Channel 12 PBS) will honor Academy Award-winning Colorado filmmaker Daniel Junge with the 2nd Annual Independent Media Award, to be presented at a luncheon on Oct. 27. The award recognizes “the career and work of an individual who has championed independent, non-commercial media and who helps to tell stories that show social justice and free and critical thinking.”

Junge is a producer for the under-production documentary “Rolling Papers,” which covers the early months of Colorado’s new legal marijuana sales as viewed through media coverage, including The Denver Post and its pot-centric blog The Cannabist.
