UP Global, a nonprofit focused on entrepreneurship, holds the trademark on Startup Weekend. After Up contacted organizers of the pot event last week, they changed the name to “Marijuana Tech Startup Competition.” UP official Karen Mooney said the organization conducts programs all over the world, and … “cannot be associated with programs like the Marijuana Tech Startup Competition.”
