Greeley area’s first recreational pot shop opens

GARDEN CITY—The Greeley area is getting its first recreational marijuana shop.

C-Nine Caregivers is opening Monday in Garden City, a tiny town surrounded by Greeley and Evans.

The Tribune ( http://bit.ly/LI2LDG) reports that the store is giving away a Peyton Manning Super Bowl jersey as one of its opening-day promotions.

Both Greeley and Evans and other northern Colorado cities have banned recreational sales, as have many other cities and town across the state. Fort Collins has also banned recreational pot shops through March but regulations allow recreational sales in unincorporated parts of Larimer County.

Garden City is less than a square mile and home to about 300 people.
