VIDEO: Retail Marijuana Sales Go Legal in Colorado

On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 residents of Colorado became the first state in the nation to go legal with retail sales of marijuana. Consumers began lining up well in advance for the 8 a.m., opening at various locations throughout the state. More than 30 stores across Colorado went live, many of which were blown away by the number of customers who came to partake in the historic event. Linda Andrews, owner of LoDo Wellness, a medical/retail dispensary, said that she expected to be stocked enough to handle any rush, but by noon, she noted that the store had to being selling only eighths to customers to conserve their quickly-shortened supply.
